May Day in Knutsford

We believe in making a contribution to our community and we do this by giving time and money.

Giving money

We have a policy of giving away 1% of the revenues from our two trading companies. We have achieved this over the last 6 years.

The money is spent in the following areas:

Giving time

We aim to give 1% of our time to useful causes. We started measuring this activity in 2009 and have some way to go before reaching that level.

Some causes that we support:

The Welcome Café, Knutsford Over Ward

The Welcome Café is a drop-in centre and community café covering Knutsford Over Ward. Situated on Longridge's shopping precinct, the community-run café provides low-cost food, youth café, adult education, fun times for children and families, mental and physical exercise for the elderly and support for those trying to return to work.

We have supported the Café financially and our staff have assisted with community events:

We have raised funds for the Over Ward Summer Fun Day event and the Children's Christmas Party. We have also sent volunteers to assist with both events.

Knutsford Grow Organisation (Garden Regeneration Over Ward):

We recently made a financial donation to Knutsford Grow. The organisation provides a voluntary gardening service to people living in the area of Knutsford who, by reason of their age, infirmity or disability, are unable to tend their gardens and cannot pay for professional services.

They also provide opportunities for volunteers to deliver a community service in a supportive environment with access to training.

Our staff volunteered to assist in bulb planting in Over Ward and one of our senior consultants has become a trustee of the organisation.

Knutsford Community Transport Association:

We were able to make a financial donation Knutsford Community Transport Association's mini bus appeal.

Groups now benefiting include the Knutsford Lions, Knutsford Stroke Club, Air Cadets, St John's Senior Citizens' luncheon club, local youth organisations and the Cheshire Penguins.

Five members of our staff regularly pick up members of the St John's Senior Citizens' Luncheon Club from their home and take them to their lunch club.
